FRONT PAGE

  1. Firstly, the magazine does include some things that are editorial such as a skyline, barcode and pull quote cover lines. You have also included a free poster inside which can really attract people to want to buy the magazine as it includes something that is free. You have also included a three color scheme which is found in many magazines.
However, there are many flaws on your magazine. All the cover lines are dedicated/about the cover star. This doesn't give the reader an insight to what's inside the magazine. This can make it less appealing and can result in a decrease in monetisation and readership. Furthermore, you have not included the price and publishing date of the magazine. This makes the magazine less professional and less realistical . Additionally the photoshop is evident by the model's hair and the masthead of the magazine looking cut and amateurish. The fonts are also slightly dull but they do work for a magazine. This is just my personal preference as I like exciting and crazy fonts. There are some pros and cons of this magazine. Nonetheless, well done!

  2. Primarily, the front page looks precise and clean cut. You have used a variety of magazine conventions like skyline, pull quotes, barcode, cover lines and a masthead. The masthead is very clear and bold so it stands out from the rest of the magazines. I like that you have included a three colour scheme which is also a magazine convention. However there is quite a lot of space left on your front cover which could for example be filled in with more cover lines of other artists. Secondly there is no price or issue date and number which would have made the magazine look more realistic.
Overall a professional sharp looking front cover.
